Amelia was born a daughter of Octave and Elmira Dumas. On Jan. 9, 1907 she was married to Edward Arquette in Notre Dame church, Malone. He died in 1958.

Surviving Mrs. Arquette are five son, Howard, Massena, Edward, Walton, Charles, Watertown, William, Potsdam, Lawrence, Hopkinton and five daughters, Mrs. Bart (Stella) Yando, Mrs. James (Pauline) Jenkinson, Mrs. Herbert (Janet) Rhodes all of Malone, Mrs. William (Margaret) Garvey, N. Lawrence, Mrs. Francis (Dora) Bonno, Hopkinton and 41 grandchildren. Four sisters, Mrs. George Smith, Mrs. Joseph Gonye, Mrs Addie Fountain, all of Malone, Mrs. Joseph Lundy Watertown; two brothers, John Dumas, NYC and Nelson Perry, Peoria, IL.
