Ex-President of Hornick Stale Bank Dies at 86

Charles O. Clift, 86, Hornick, former president of the Hornick State Bank, died Tuesday at an Onawa, Iowa hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ at Hornick. Edrie A Regier, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery at Holly Springs under direction of the Wood Funeral Home of Whiting, Iowa

Mr. Clift also was a past director of the Hornick State Bank, and he formerly was a member of the Holly Springs school Board. Mr. Clift was born Sept. 7, 1884, at Woodsfield, Ohio. He came to Holly Springs as a child. In 1943, he moved to Hornick where he farmed for a number of years.

He married Emily Lockwood on Feb. 25, I960, at Whiting, Mr. Clift was a member of the Church of Christ at Holly springs.

Survivors include the widow, five daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Heath of Bronson, Mrs. Robert (Irene) Pixler of Hornick, Mrs. Kenneth (Geneveive) Donovan of Tupelo, Miss., Mrs. Julian (Evelyn) Serrill of Des Moines and Mrs. Ardel (Annabell) Smith of Grand Forks, N.D, two sons, Army Lt. Col. (Ret James B. of Sunnyvale, Calif, and Robert C. of Hornick; brother, Forest of Sioux City: a sister, Mrs. O.D. Forney of Hornick; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

A memorial in Mr. Clift name has been established for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1915 Riverview Blvd Sioux City.
