HUNTER SCOTT JONES
July 1, 1995 - May 3, 2013
Hunter Jones, beloved son, brother, grandson and trusted friend, has gone on before us to be with our almighty father in heaven on the 3rd day of May, 2013. Through the grace of God, Hunter was brought into this world by his parents, Brad and Carolyn Jones, on the 31st day of July, 1995 and soon thereafter was baptized with the mark of the cross eternal.
At a very early age, Hunter discovered his passion for the game of baseball while being the batboy for his big brother, D.'s baseball team. At the age of six, Hunter began his baseball career, playing in the Mountain View Little League. Hunter excelled, playing any and all positions needed by his team. He approached the game with not only a high level of skill, but additionally with a mentally tough and competitive attitude, all the while bearing that unforgettable, ear to ear smile. He carried that same happy toughness onto the football field while participating in Optimist Football, playing for the Predators. Hunter was the best teammate one could ask for, always assisting others to better their game with a gentle touch, words of wisdom and encouragement, while still bearing that addicting, one of a kind, ear to ear smile. He was first on the scene to assist an injured player, or to lift the skills and spirits of his teammates.
Hunter was also an avid sports fan following the Chicago White Sox as if they were from Idaho. He was a committed and passionate Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. One of his prize possessions was the football he received through special friends that was autographed by Doug Martin.
Hunter was an avid outdoorsman. When he was not competing in sporting events, he was spending his life trail riding and camping with his Mom and Dad, Brother and special friends. Many days were spent fishing at Warm Lake, and then sharing the evenings with his loved ones around the campfire. Although he would gladly hunt for any big game, Hunter's true love was hunting birds of all kinds. The left side of our family blind will always be full of the memories of our THUNDER CRACKER. Hunter's desire and ability would most always guarantee that he would put the first bird in the bag.
If you knew Hunter at all, it was very clear that he was extremely fond and proud of his 4x4 truck. She, or "BERNIE" as he called her, took him everywhere he needed to go and probably some places he didn't. He was certainly at peace when he and "BERNIE" were knee deep in and flippin mud higher than you could throw. When he wasn't off the beatin path muddin, you could still tell when he was comin towards you as his two 12's were bumpin everywhere he and "BERNIE" traveled.
Hunter was blessed with many friends from Mary McPherson Elementary School, Meridian Middle School and Lake Hazel Middle School. After graduating from middle school, Hunter became a Maverick at Mountain View High School where he was a Senior at the time of his passing. He was respected, trusted, loved and will be greatly missed by his classmates. He would always greet you with that unforgettable, ear to ear smile, making your day better with him in it. Hunter will be there, in spirit, with his classmates at Mountain View High School's graduation ceremony. Hunter treasured in his heart the love and support of all his friends and classmates.
Although Hunter was only with us for a short period of time, his love, passion, spirit and smile created a lifetime of memories for all of the lives he touched. Hunter can never be replaced and will always be held close in the hearts of his family, friends and all those whom lives he touched. He taught us to live each and every day to the fullest, with love, passion and happiness, and to love one another unconditionally. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise. A private family graveside service will follow at Kohlerlawn Cemetery.
