CALDWELL — Services for Jacob A. McVey, 71, of Caldwell, Route 5, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Peckam-Dakan-Davis Chapel in Caldwell by the Rev. Dr. Harold N. Nye. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Born in Humeston, Iowa, July 21, 1893, he lived in Colorado and Canada before coming to Caldwell, where he lived for 39 years and worked as a building contractor. He married Edna Lee Estes in Weiser on Oct. 8, 1938. Mr. McVey also farmed.
Surviving are his wife, Edna of Caldwell; four daughters, Linda Ann McVey, Mrs. Helen Seiber and Mrs. Betty Holden, all of Caldwell, and Dortha Seat of Lakeview, Wash.; one son, Dale McVey of Boise; five brothers, Ted and Sam, both of Merced, Calif., Floyd of Creswell, Ore., Willard of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mack McVey of San Mateo, Calif.; three sisters, Dearcy Evans of Halsey, Ore., Elnora Redifer of Newport Beach, Ore., and Madge Bond of Harrisburg, Ore.; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
