Born to Conrad Ozro and Margaret Anderson DeMille. The oldest of 9 children. He married Eva Crofts on Nov 18, 1942 in the Salt Lake City Temple, then made their home in Orderville where they raised 4 children, Edward, Alan, Leslie and Larane.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII at Biloxi Mississippi in the military police and in England in the 8th Air Force refueling B-17 & B-24 aircraft.

John had a special relationship as a boy with his Grandpa and Grandma Anderson who lived in Cane Beds AZ. At a young age his dad would put him on a horse and tell him not to get off and sent him alone to his grandparents house. He wouldn't have been able to get back on the horse without help.

He was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions. He served as a temple worker with his wife in St.George until her death on Dec. 12, 1988. He gave many illness and comfort blessings and even assisted in blessings while a resident in the Beehive home in Kanab.

He enjoyed deer hunting, getting loads of wood, gardening and reading.

John is survived by his children; Edward, Alan, Leslie & Laraine, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, twenty one step great grandchildren and fourteen great great step grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters; Lois Brinkerhoff and Helen Leavitt and one brother VerDon; sister-in-law Marjorie Crofts, Karma Criddle and Dorothy DeMille; brother in law Charles Esplin.

He was preceded in death by his wife Eva, his brothers Wallace, LaMar, Leland and two sisters Wanda Bowers and Vonda DeMille as well as brothers-in law and sisters-in law.

Funeral services held May 11, 2013 at the Orderville Church. Arrangements made with Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab, UT.
