SOUTH BEND - Robert Gammage. Jr., 77 years old, passed away on Sunday evening after an illness. Robert was born on August 12, 1935, in Greenwood, MS; to Robert, Sr., and Jessie (Griffin) both of whom proceeded him in death.
Robert was joined in holy matrimony to Marcia Paskell on November 21, 1959, in South Bend, IN. Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marcia; one son, Magistrate Judge, Andre (Andrea) Gammage and their children, Austin, Valencia, Tre, and Delorean, of South Bend, IN; two daughters, Traci J. Gammage of South Bend, IN and Cheryl (Pastor Paxton) Reed and their 2 daughters, Payton and Paysia, of Huntersville, NC; two brothers, Carl (Brenda) Gammage of East Point, GA; and Albert (Bea) Gammage of Lawrenceville, GA; along with several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by one sister, Thelma Cornelius, and one brother, Nyling Gammage, Sr.
Robert retired from AM General Corp in 1997 after 33 years of service. He was also the owner /operator of A and G Trucking Co. and Gammage Enterprises. Robert Gammage was a very active member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church for many years until his death.
Visitation for Robert Gammage, Jr., will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Macedonia M. B. Church, 1862 N. Olive Street.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013, also in Macedonia M. B Church.
Visitation will occur one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
