Clyde Dean found dead at home in Nora Springs
NORA SPRINGS - Clyde C. Dean, 71, was found dead in his home here Sunday. A local doctor believes he died late Saturday. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Shecklyer Funeral Home with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.
The son of Daniel and Clara Turner Dean, he was born at Marble Rock in 1888. He was a veteran of World War I and had survived in France. Military rites will be held at the services.
Surviving are a son, Lindy, Fullerton, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Mae) Zastrow and Mrs. W. E. (Mertie) Matte, Charles City. He had been a mechanic and had at one time operated a steam engine with a threshing crew.
