Ella Mae Williams Fry, 93, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Cheryl Murray, Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Ella Mae was born February 9, 1920 in Caddo County, Oklahoma to Clyde B. and Inez (Norvel) Williams. She moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma when she was 7 years old. She attended grade school at Sickles and Weatherford, Oklahoma, and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1937. She attended Southwestern State College for three years majoring in business and accounting. On June 6, 1937, she married Everett J. Fry, and they moved to Wichita Falls in 1943 where he was in the Army Air Corps. Ella Mae worked at Ray Keith and Arnold Insurance for several years and for KAUZ-TV Channel 6 as an accountant for 23 years until retiring. After retirement, she was an active volunteer at Bethania Hospital for eleven years. She was active in the J.A. Kemp Order of the Eastern Star, Wichita Falls for over 50 years. She served as Worthy Matron for four years, secretary for thirteen years and treasurer for one year. She has held offices in the Petrolia Chapter #84 and Burkburnett Chapter #655. She has held numerous state offices including Deputy Grand Matron for two years. Ella Mae enjoyed sewing, fishing and traveling with her husband. She called The Gables at Rolling Meadows in Wichita Falls home for the last year of her life. Even though Ella Mae did not have children, she took great pride in having a special place in the lives of her nieces, Kay and Colleen. They spent many happy times together and she helped them both through numerous changes and challenges in their lives. We will miss her guidance and love.

Ella Mae's life could never be described in just a few thoughts, but she was faithful to God, her husband, family and friends, loving to all she met, generous to all she knew and was described by all who met her as being such a sweet person.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Fry; her brother, Vernon Williams; brothers-in-law, Bernie Fry, and Dale Fry; sisters-in-law, Lorene Fry, Maurene Fry, and Pauline Williams; and longtime Eastern Star friend, Marie Powell.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Fry of North East, Pennsylvania; her niece, Kay Senn and husband George of Wichita Falls; nephew, Larry Williams and wife Cara of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two great-nieces and nephew, Colleen Garrison Harris of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where she serves in the Navy, Dylan McCorquodale of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Jordan McCorquodale of Lubbock; a cousin, Leoma Caldwell of Hugo, Oklahoma; and very special friend and caregiver, Carla Robinson.

The family wishes to thank the loving and caring staff of The Gables at Rolling Meadows for making the last year of her life so special. This included nurses, nursing assistants, physical therapists, activities director, housekeeping, food service and all other personnel. We also wish to thank the nurses and all other personnel from Hospice of Wichita Falls for all of their help and loving care for Ella Mae and her family. We could not have survived the past few weeks without them.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joseph A. Kemp Masonic Lodge #1287 in Wichita Falls; Order of Eastern Star Petrolia Chapter #84 or Burkburnett Chapter #655; Wesley United Methodist Church; or to Hospice of Wichita Falls.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
