Shirley Jean Hubbard, age 72, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (May 5, 2013). Born April 21, 1941 in Amonate, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late George Herbert and Vade Musick Hubbard. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Floyd and Alice Margaret Musick, her paternal grandparents, John Thomas and Helen Martha Hubbard, one brother, Lee Roy Hubbard, one sister, Georgia Lean (Hubbard) Compton, and sister-in-law, Rose M. Barger Hubbard.
Survivors include three brothers, Joseph George Hubbard of New Richmond, Ohio, Kennith Hubbard and wife, Eva Gay, and Bill Hubbard and wife, Libby all of Honaker; three sisters, Dorothy Alice Hubbard of Honaker, Betty Cruz and husband, Joe of Virginia Beach, and Brenda Sue Hubbard of Hillsville; one brother-in-law, Cecil L. "Pip" Compton of Gloucester, Virginia; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon, Virginia.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will gather at the home of Bill and Libby Hubbard in Honaker, Virginia to celebrate Shirley's life.
