MORRISTOWN -- Christopher Frank Gray, of Morristown, born July 16, 1974, passed Tuesday at his home.
Chris had served in Germany, Iraq, and two tours in Afghanistan. He served as an E5 with the 776th in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. He was very proud to serve his country.
Chris graduated from Cherokee High School.
He leaves behind two children: Gavyn and Shalyn Gray; mother and stepfather: Wilma Sartain and Robert E. Campbell Sr. of Chuckey; father and stepmother: Frank Curtis and Donna Gray of Bulls Gap; sisters: Chasity and Terry Seal of Bulls Gap, Chrystal and Glen Deyton of Baileyton, and Makyala Gray of Bulls Gap; grandmother: Pauline Gray of Russellville; nieces and nephews: Lindsey Bell, Shannon and Noah Deyton, and Kristen and Dylan Johnson of Bulls Gap; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: George "Bill" Gray and Willard and Ruby Sartain; uncle: EJ Sartain; aunt: Ann Sartain Gilbert; and stepgrandparents: Raymond and Ona Lee Goodson.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel.
Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens at 9:45 a.m. Friday for a 10 a.m. graveside service. Military honors will be provided by the Tennessee Honor Guard.
