FALMOUTH — Patrick E. Grant (45) of Falmouth, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2013, surrounded by family at Massachusetts General Hospital. He died of lymphoma. Patrick was the beloved son of Winifred (Sweeney) Grant of Falmouth, and the late Edward Grant. Patrick graduated from Falmouth High School in 1986, became a certified arborist from the U-Mass Amherst Stockbridge School of Agriculture, and later formed Grant Tree Service. Patrick is also survived by his fiancee Sarah Norris and their son, Charles Patrick Grant — who was the light of his life; his sister, Drawde Geishecker, her husband Frank and their son Edward — who always looked up to his uncle and loved playing basketball with him. Patrick leaves an uncle, several aunts and many cousins.

Patrick embraced life and loved living on Cape Cod, especially where he grew up in Falmouth Heights. He cherished the time he had with his friends, many of whom he knew since childhood. Patrick loved to ski, and he spent several winters in Stowe, Vermont. He always looked forward to boating, fishing, and the shark tournaments. Patrick enjoyed running in the Falmouth Road Race, and then hosting a party for his friends afterwards in the Heights. Patrick was a loyal fan of the New England Patriots, watching many games with his friends either in someone's home or at the stadium. He also loved going on long walks or swimming with his dog, Hadley.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason funeral home at 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at Saint Patrick's Church at 511 Main Street, Falmouth. Burial will be immediately following at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
