Rites Set for Capt. Patrick J. Donohoe, Veteran Fireman.

Rosary for Fire Capt. Patrick J. Donohoe, 63, who helped fight most of Seattle's biggest blazes, will be said at 7:30 o'clock this evening and Requiem Mass will be said at 9 o'clock tomorrow forenoon, both in Holy Rosary Church.

Burial will be in Calvary, directed by the Daniels & Brinton mortuary.

Captain Donohoe died yesterday in his home, 4017 32nd Av. S.W. He was known by fellow firemen and friends as "Joe."
Both Fire Chief William F. Fitzgerald and Assistant Fire Chief Robert Rogers paid tribute to Captain Donohoe's service.

Chief Fitzgerald said he was "one of the best firemen the Seattle Fire Department ever had."

Born in Minneapolis, Captain Donohoe came to Seattle in 1905. Two years later he joined the Fire Department. He became a lieutenant on January 23, 1913, and a captain on December 30, 1920.

Captain Donohoe headed Engine Company No. 36 at 23rd Avenue Southwest and West Spokane Street, in the heavily industrialized Harbor Island area.

During his 42 years' service as a fireman, Captain Donohoe helped fight the Roger Brown Oil Dock fire in 1915, the Pier 14 fire in 1916, the Grand Trunk Dock fire in July, 1914, and the Lincoln Hotel fire in 1920.

Surviving are his wife, Nora E.; four sons, Leo T., Edward P., William J. and Robert A. Donohoe; two daughters, Mrs. Rosina Kipper and Mrs. Josephine Kelly, and ten grandchildren, all of Seattle.
