Mr. Formby

William D. (Uncle Bill) Formby, 79, 333 McCall Blvd., died Wednesday evening following a brief illness.

Mr. Formby was born at Wax on May 14, 1899, son of the late William D. and Ophelia Wharton Formby. He had resided in Floyd County most of his life, and prior to his retirement in 1958 was engaged in textile work. He was a member of the Silver Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He was married in August, 1943, to the late Della Barton Everett, who died in April, 1968.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Roy Lumpkin, Wax; one step-daughter, Mrs. Clarence Player, Marietta; a number of nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Talley Brothers Funeral Home with Elder Alfred Brock and Elder Jayson Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today. At other hours the family members will be at their respective homes.
