Mary Johnson was baptized on 31 July 1614 at St. Mary the Virgin Church, Ware, co. Herts, England the daughter of John Johnson and Mary Heath (NEHGR 146:274). She married by 1637 to Roger Mowry, based on the birth of their first child. They lived at Salem, Massachusetts Bay Colony eventually settling in the town of Providence, Rhode Island, where her first husband died. On 16 March 1673/74 John Kinsley and Mary Maury where married at Rehoboth, Plymouth Colony, New England (NEHGR 9:315-Plymouth Colony Records). Mary Kingsley, was buried on 29 January 1678/79 in Rehoboth (GMB 2:1313), beside her husband just 23 days later.

In 1890 her husband's tombstone was found in a family plot on his land and in 1946 it was removed to the Newman Cemetery about a mile to the east. (Bowen, "Early Rehoboth" 3:20, fn3). No marker for her has been found.
