Dan was retired from the U.S. Army, having served in WWII in the European Theater. His service included the breach of the Siegfried line crossing the Rhine River. Among other awards he was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Combat Infantry Badge.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel B. and Lena R. Loomis, plus two brothers. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife, of 65 ½ years, Elizabeth, two sisters, Richadean Bell and husband Loal, and Margaret Ann Sisco, several nieces and nephews including one Godson, Eugene L. Crist III.
Graveside services with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Vollman Cemetery in Bigelow, with Bro. Jimmy Corder officiating.
