Note taken from her mother's obituary that appeared in The Bowling Green Time newspaper January 26, 1888;

Mrs. Letha Wood, took the prize, a silver cup, at the old settler's reunion at Bowling Green in 1883, for being the first child born in Pike County.


Information obtained from Kevin Daniel, a 4th great grandchild of Relief Wood.
-Relief "Letha" McConnell married Spencer Wood. They had a daughter in about 1829 named Marinda. Marinda later married Gilbert Shoemaker. Gilbert was first married to Gennette Brandon.
