Mrs. Rose J. Gessner, 97, of the Wilmington Health Care Center and formerly of 39 Ruby Ave. in Wilmington, died Sunday evening at the health care center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Gessner.
Mrs. Gessner was born in Clinton County on September 25, 1890, a daughter of Paul and Sarah George Clement.
She was a member of the St. Columbkille Catholic Church.
Mrs. Gessner is survived by one son, Vern Gessner of Sabina; one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Thatcher of Wilmington; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Paul Gessner.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Columbkille Catholic Church. Burial will be held in the Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Reynolds-Smith funeral home in Wilmington.
