Dr. Reid White, Sr. was the son of James Jones White and Mary Louisa Reid. He married Lucy Waddell Preston and served as a Major in World War I.
On the 1880 Lexington, Rockbridge Co., VA census, I found James I White, 51; wife Mary L, 47; daughters: Sallie H, 20; Belle, 18; Agnes R, 15 and sons: William C, 14 and Reid, 12, all VA born.
In 1892, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. The following year he was practicing in Lexington, VA. He served on the State Board of Health from 1911 to 1920. He was a major in the World War 1. He was Vice President of the First National Bank of Lexington. On the 1930 Lexington, Rockbridge Co., VA census, I found physician Reid White, 62; wife Elizabeth B, 57; son Reid, Jr., 28 and servant Annie Miles, all VA born.
