Mary Margaret "Peggy" Behrens, 88, of Tallahassee, went home to the Lord Friday, June 13, 2008.

She retired as organist at Blessed Sacrament Parish in 1978 and most recently retired as the organist of St. Thomas More Co-Cathedral. She had been a piano teacher in Tallahassee since 1960.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1920, the daughter of John and Mary Franz Bulger.

Peggy, her husband Arthur and their children moved to Tallahassee in 1959, where she began a career in music that lasted until November of last year. She was the accompanist of the Blessed Sacrament School Chorus in the 1960s and the organist at the church.

She played for weddings and funerals at local churches for 45 years. The joy of her life was teaching the many students she had throughout those years. She went on to become the organist at St. Thomas More on a part time basis in 1980 and that stretched into another 25 years of service in the music ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, and an infant son William.
