Mrs. Hazel Hester, 84, of Killen, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home after an extended illness.
She was a native of Lauderdale County and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Greenview Memorial Chapel, with a graveside service beginning at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be the Rev. Jerry Phillips.
Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Myrthe Davis McMullan; first husband, Roland Chandler; second husband, John Hester; brothers, Carlos and Larry; sister, Bernice Price; great-grandson, Jordan; and son-in-law, Dennis Valentine.
She is survived by her sons, Roland Samuel Chandler (Cora Jane), of Hartsville, Tenn., William Thomas Chandler (Reatha); daughters, Brenda Valentine, Kathy Peters (Gene), all of Florence; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff Peters, Kevin Tsukashima, Matthew Palmer, John Lane, Tommy Palmer and Wade Chandler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Palmer, Jonathan Peters, Dewayne Lane and Matthew Berry.
