Luranse Scott was the daughter of Justus Scott and Edee Grilley, born in Wallingford or Danby. She married Anthony Colvin in 1822 in Danby.

After moving to Bennington late in life with her daughter Mary Colvin Remington and her family, first Anthony and then Luranse died in Bennington, and are buried in the Old Bennington Village Cemetery on Morgan Street.
