Samantha Hannah Ruth Lawson, age 25, of Thousand Oaks, California, died on Friday, April 26, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident.

Samantha was born on November 2, 1987, in Anaheim, California, and had lived most of her life in California. She had also lived in Vermilion, Ohio, New Mexico and Arizona.

She attended nursing school at Lorain Community College and worked at American Eagle Outfitters, KTM NorthAmerica and Bank of America.

She had been a member of Padre Serra Catholic Church in Camarillo, California. She enjoyed basketball, reading, conversation and music, having played the guitar in a faith based rock band. Caring for her daughter was the center of her life.

She was survived by her daughter, Kayla; parents, John and Cindy Mingl Lawson of Vermilion, Ohio; brother, Jesse Lawson of Greenville, South Carolina, and brother, Scott Benton of Miami Shores, Florida.

Samantha was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Estill and Ruth Lawson and maternal grandparents, Hannah Jane and Fred Barnes.

Funeral services were held at the Riddle Funeral Home on Friday, May 3, 2013, Father Ron Brickner officiated.

Interment followed at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion, Ohio.
