Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at Hardison Baptist Church with burial in Byron City Cemetery. The Reverends Gene Payne, Rick Odum and E. C. Sheehan will officiate. -Born in Buckingham County, Virginia, Mrs. Barnes was a graduate of Arvonia High School in Buckingham County. She was a homemaker and member of Hardison Baptist Church. -Survivors include husband, Dr. R. C. Barnes of Byron; daughters, Myra Hortman and her husband Ed of Moultrie, GA, Virginia Ruth Carroll of Warner Robins, GA; son, James Ratcliffe "Jimmy" Barnes, Sr. and his wife Karen of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jason Hortman of Athens, Thad Carroll of Athens, Becky Carroll of Fort Valley, James Barnes, Jr. of Tifton, Timothy Barnes of Warner Robins, GA; two sisters, Anne Ergenbright of Charlottesville, VA and Marion Hughes of Warner Robins. -The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00P.M. Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Rooks Funeral Home in Byron. -Rooks Funeral Home in Byron has charge of arrangements.
