Mrs. Hoover was born November 26, 1929 in Kosciusko County, IN to Dewey and Iva (Hoppis) Rhoades.
Living in LaGrange since 1963, she was a member of the First Church of God in LaGrange and volunteered at LaGrange County Council on Aging for many years.
Mrs. Hoover worked as a sewing machine operator at Shadow Interiors in Shipshewana, IN and Artisen Interiors in Middlebury, IN.
On June 28, 1951 in Wabash, IN she married Eugene W. Hoover; he preceded her in death on June 30, 1997.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Douglas Wine of Ligonier, IN and Peggy and Robert Kapaldo of Howe, IN; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Raymond and Colleen Hoover of LaGrange, IN, Donald Hoover of Wolcottville, IN, Marvin and Cindy Hoover of LaGrange, IN, Dennis and Debbie Hoover of Elkhart, IN, and David and Chelly Hoover of White Pigeon, MI; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Arden and Mary Rhoades of Warsaw, IN, Phil and Cheryl Rhoades of Goshen, IN, and Eddie and Sharon Rhoades of Oelwein, IA.
Her parents, three sisters, Norma Tethrake, Donna Troupe and Melba Fleischauer, and a brother, Max Rhoades also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Rev. Nancy Warren officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Howe, IN.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and an hour before services on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to First Church of God in LaGrange.
