Services Saturday for May E. Vahl, Marion
May E. Vahl, a lifelong Marion resident, died Wednesday morning, at her home, 925 Eleventh st.
She was born Nov. 3, 1881, the daughter of Burgess and Sarah Cory Martin, on a farm south of Marion. For the last 36 years Mrs. Vahl has lived at her present home, where she operated a bakery. She was a member of the First Methodist church and the Mary circle of WSCS. Surviving are 2 sons, Donald, of Cedar Rapids, and William, of Dubuque; daughter, Mrs. Harry Relder of Marion; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Florence Curtin of Marion. Services: Saturday at the Murdoch chapel conducted by the Rev. Ralph E. Baker. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel after 6 p.m. tonight.
