Gerald Scott Davis, age 72, passed away August 24, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a result of respiratory failure.

Born June 22, 1924 in Salt Lake City, to Chauncey Jacob and Evelyn Iza Akert Davis. Married Maxine Linnea Benson, October 10, 1946, in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Gerald will be remembered as an accomplished designer/architect, artist, craftsman, handyman and creative inventor. Served in many capacities in the church offering his artistic talents in Road Shows, plays and floats. Served in the U.S. Navy World War II in the Pacific Theatre. For 37 years he gave tender care to his sweeheart, Maxine.

Survived by son, Andrew (Dawn), daughter, Christine (Robert) Young, 11 grandchildren and brother, Richard. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers, Bruce, Cliff, Byron and infant sisters, Geraldine and Marion.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 29th, at 11 a.m., at the Butler 1st Ward, 7000 So. 2700 East. Family and friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd (7800 So.) and one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment: Mountain View Memorial Estates.
