"Mrs. Dorothy Wheeler Smith, daughter of John R. and Lillian Rood Wheeler, was born in Milton, Wis., Sept. 8, 1898, and died at the home of her son in Fairfield, Conn., Sept. 26, 1963.
When a small child the family moved to Boulder, Colo., where Dorothy grew up and joined the Boulder S.D.B. Church. In 1921 she graduated from Milton College and later that year married David W. Smith of Milton. [Dorothy married David William Smith, Sr. on September 11, 1921]. After his graduation from the University of Wisconsin he accepted a position with the Dallas Daily News and they spent their entire married in that city [Dallas, TX]. Mr. Smith died in 1956. Mrs. Smith retained her membership in the Boulder church but worked with a church of another faith in Dallas until illness forbade." [She attended the Presbyterian Church (City Temple].
She leaves her son David W. Smith, Jr., 5 grandchildren, and an aunt, Mrs. Grace Rood Lowther. Services were held in Dallas and burial was made there.
