LeRoy A. Oehmichen, 78, formerly of Sheboygan, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 1994 at Greendale Health Care Center, where he had been a resident for the past six months. Born March 27, 1915 in the Town of Meeme, LeRoy was a son of the late Louis and Ella Witthuhn Oehmichen. On May 1, 1966 he married the former Evelyn Fontany in Sheboygan. LeRoy was employed for many years at Enzo Jel Company, retiring in 1977. He had previously worked as a butcher in School Hill and had farmed in the Town of Meeme on the family homestead.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two step-sons, James (Sandra) Henkel and William (Sandra) Henkel, Sheboygan; two step grandchildren, Corby and Brian Henkel, Sheboygan; one sister, Nelda (Arnold) Winkel, Sheboygan; and one niece, Jane (Mark) Mikalowsky, Sheboygan Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 7 pm Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Lippert Funeral Home. The Rev. Gregory Whelton will officiate. Interment will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 pm until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
