Gladys Mitchell Dempsey, 86, of Midland, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with Pastor Walter Thompson officiating.
Gladys was born on April 7, 1927 in Independence, Kansas to Dow and Ivetta Mitchell. She was raised in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. On June 3, 1948 she and William Curtis Dempsey Jr. were married in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She lived in San Angelo for twenty-two years, previously living in Mt. Pleasant and Marshall, TX where she taught at the Episcopal Day School. Her last two years were spent in Midland at Polo Park Retirement Village.
