Cheryl Brooks, 64, of Rockford, IL went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 2, 2013.
A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Waleska. The family is receiving friends on Friday, May 10th, 4PM-10PM, at the funeral home.
Cheryl was born September 29, 1948, in Canton, Georgia, the daughter of Murriel and Willie Mae Brooks.
Cheryl's time and love were wholly invested in her family. If you met her a second time you were now an extended family member. She was a giving person who would do without to make sure that her children had enough. Nothing would make her happier than for her many grandchildren to interrupt her intense sessions of Nancy Grace and Greta Van Susteren with a visit to Grandma's house! Distance was no obstacle to her family connections with her Brother and Sisters down South due to her love/hate relationship with her newfangled smart phone that was never far away but never had a charged battery!
Cheryl was baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Spirit at Firstborn Ministries church in Loves Park, IL.
Cheryl will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving and giving person who was always trying to help, like it or not!
Cheryl is survived by her daughters,a brother, sisters and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was pre-deceased by Brothers Donald Brooks, Ricky Brooks, and Sister Barbara Benson. Names of survivors are omitted to protect their privacy. (ISL)
