Jay T. Martin, 35, 241 Melmore St., died at 9:08 a.m., Sunday, January 29, 1989, in Mercy Hospital.

He was born October 4, 1953, in Tiffin, to Paul R. and Martha A. (Tracey) Martin, and they survived. On July 25, 1981, he married Ann M. Smith in St. Joseph Catholic Church, and she survived.

Also surviving was a daughter, Tracey Lynn at home; a brother, Nevin Martin of Tiffin; and a sister, Mrs. David (Lisa) Shannon of Columbus.

Mr. Martin, a lifetime resident of the Tiffin area, was retired from Martin Brothers Plumbing and Heating. He also made stained glass windows. He graduated from Columbian High School in 1972 and received an associate degree in plumbing and heating from Ferris State College, Big Rapids, MI. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Elks, the Eagles, and the Moose. He was also active in the Cursillo Movement of the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 1989, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The rosary was recited 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 1989, at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home.
