Helen M. Saren of Sandy Hook died on her 92nd birthday at her home. She was the wife of the late William Saren. Helen was born in Swoyersville, PA May 2, 1921 a daughter of the late Peter and Frances (Romanski) Stanishefski. A longtime resident of Newtown, Helen and her late husband were the owners of the Botsford Drive-In for many years. Mrs. Saren was a Communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and was a former member and treasurer of the Botsford Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by 3 sons, William Saren, Jr. and his wife Linda of Sandy Hook, Robert Saren and his wife Sandy of Southbury and Richard Saren and his wife Dru of Southbury; a sister, Frances Kepish of Exeter, PA;her caregiver, Marilyn Gudsnuk of Southbury; 9 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church Monday May 6th at 10:00am. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown Sunday May 5th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
