Ruth M. Albrecht, age 92, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.

Ruth was born on November 18, 1921 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Rueben and Hilda Green Schmitt. Ruth graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1940.

On August 5, 1948 she married Arthur W. Albrecht at First German Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2004. Ruth was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and was very active in her church over the years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Joe Singer, Manitowoc, WI; two grandchildren: Christopher and Amanda Singer; one sister: JoAnn Stelzer, Manitowoc, WI; special friend: Jane Webb, Manitowoc, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Rueben and Hilda Schmitt; husband: Arthur; son: Kurt; two sisters and three brothers-in-law: Elaine and George Brewer, Marilyn and Robert Zimmermann, and Robert Stelzer.

Private funeral services for the family were held on Tuesday afternoon, April 29, 2014 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating was Rev. Dr. James Klein with burial following on Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. A luncheon followed the funeral service at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials to St. John's United Church of Christ. Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.

The family would like to express their appreciation and special thanks to the staff at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center for the compassionate care Ruthie received while she was a resident there.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
