Dr David Dudley was a physician who travelled widely throughout the world with his family in the latter 1800s. He settled in Bombay, India, for many years, where he took an intense interest in local religion and history. A friend of Madame Blavatsky, he was also president of the Bombay Theosophists' Society. He died at the age of 89 and was cremated. His daughter Ruby kept his ashes on her mantelpiece at her home in Georgia for a number of years, although their current whereabouts is unknown.
