Had Been Ill At Brother's For Months.


William Getz, for many years one of Baltimore's leading artist photographers, died Friday afternoon at the home of his brother, Dr. Charles Getz, 1111 West Lanvale street. Mr. Getz had not enjoyed good health for some time. About a year ago he retired from business and for several months before his death he had been confined to his bed at the home of his brother.

J. Sommer Getz, another brother, came from Boston Friday morning, reaching the bedside just before his death.

The funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the residence of Dr. Getz. The Rev. Dr. Richard W. Hogue, rector of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Ascension, will officiate. Burial will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery.

NOTES: William Getz's parents were theatrical scene painter Charles Sommer Getz and Sophia Theresa Getz. Getz's brother James Sommer Getz was also a theatrical scene painter, and their brother Charles Getz was a physician. William and his wife Ida V. (Lemmon) Getz had one child, William C. Getz.
