Jessie Mae (Jet) Wilson Murray was born February 9, 1937 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Ulysess and Jeroline Ray Wilson.

She was united in marriage to Gordon Murray on April 26, 1960. Mr. Murray preceded her in death on February 4, 1970, following 9 years of marriage.

Mrs. Murray attended Rose Creek Elementary School, then graduated from Selmer High School in 1955. Her working life began early; as a child she picked cotton and peppers for her father. She was later employed by Brown Shoe Company as a sewing machine operator, and also worked as a cook for the Dog and Suds in Selmer.

Mrs. Murray went to work for Bethel Springs Elementary School as a teacher's aide and later became cafeteria manager, a position she held for over 38 years. She loved all the children at school, especially those who were less fortunate; no one knows how many school meals she paid for on behalf of the children.

Mrs. Murray was a former member of the Bethel Springs Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and helped with Vacation Bible School. She was presently a member of the Woodville Baptist Church. Mrs. Murray's life was centered around caring for her family, whom she loved very much, and she also enjoyed shopping trips with her daughter Vonda when time permitted.

Mrs. Murray departed this life on May 3, 2013 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 2 Months, 24 Days.

She is survived by two daughters, Terrie Lynn Butler and Vonda Burns and husband Sanford, all of Bethel Springs, TN; five grandchildren: Hunter Allen Burns, Robert Chaseton Russell, Kyle Garrett Burns, Mark Evan Burns, and Daren Trey Butler; a sister, Frances Ann Murray of Bethel Springs, TN; two brothers, Eugene Wilson and wife Margaret of Bethel Springs, TN and Alvin Wilson and wife Mary Lulal of Selmer, TN; and many extended family and friends.
