MRS. MUELLER, CHICAGO, DIES
Member of Prominent Early Family Here Is Dead
Messages were received here this morning announcing the death on Sunday of Mrs.
Edward Mueller, a member of a prominent early family of this city, at her home
in Chicago where she has resided for more than 35 years. The aged lady was
nearly 80 years old.
No definite funeral arrangements have been made, but it is understood that services
will be held on Wednesday with the remains to be removed to the Voshardt mausoleum
in Pioneers' Rest cemetery here.
Mrs. Mueller, nee Sophie Voshardt, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voshardt,
of this city, was the widow of the late Edward Mueller, who operated the first
bottling works in the city. He was a brother of Richard Mueller, founder of the
former Mueller Brothers Brewing company, now the Two Rivers Beverage company. She
was born in Germany and came to this country with her parents at an early age and
settled in this city.
Surviving Mrs. Mueller are two daughters, Mrs. John J. Danhof, of Detroit, and Mrs.
William Kettering of LaMont, Ill., and a son, Louis Mueller of Chicago. The children
were born in this city. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. R.A. Kahlenberg, of Chicago,
and a brother, Frank Voshardt, of Florida. Charles and Edwin Mueller of this city
are nephews.
