Hannah Robinson Smith Varner of Irvington, Va., formerly of Cary, peacefully and joyfully went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 after several years of declining health.
She was the wife of the late Arthur Milton Varner and formerly Robert Lee Smith.
She is survived by her sons, Andy Smith of Irvington, Va. and Louis (Donna) Smith of Mooresville; grandsons, Rob (Carrie), Todd and Matthew Smith; a great-grandson Andrew; granddaughter Jessica Graham; great-grand-daughters London and Kayla; sisters Martha, Ruth (Tom) and Juanita (George).
Hannah was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and six sisters.
Hannah was a beautiful representation of Christ's love to all who knew her.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, special grandmother and caring sister.
She dearly loved teaching children.
While teaching Sunday school at Landmark Free Will Baptist Church, Hannah enjoyed helping children learn songs, especially "You are My Sunshine" and "Jesus Loves Me".
In very special appreciation the family would like to thank Hannah's best friend and live-in caregiver, Arlene Seekins.
Arlene's God-honoring, loving and gentle care will always be remembered and appreciated.
