Jeffery Lynn Townsend, 53, of Danville, formerly of Frankfort, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013

He was born August 22, 1959 in Russellville, KY and was the son of Roy Lee Townsend Sr., and Irene Young Townsend.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father and brother, Kenneth Townsend.

He graduated from Frankfort High School, where he showed extraordinary talent in basketball, football, baseball, cross country and track.

He was a faithful member of 1st Baptist Church and was active in the Male Chorus, Voices of Praise and served as the church custodian.

Jeff retired from the State Department of Finance, in Frankfort, KY after 36 years of service.

He leaves to mourn his passing a wife, Paulette Townsend; stepson, Jae-Paul Jones; mother, Irene Young Townsend; two brothers, Donald (Alice) and Roy Jr. (Paula) Townsend, of Frankfort, Kentucky; four sisters, Etta and Donna Townsend, Martha (John) Mcintosh, of Frankfort, Kentucky and Elizabeth Ann Townsend, Tennessee; a mother-in-law Flora Story, Danville; seven nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews; several other in-laws, host of other relatives and friends.

Service: Saturday, March 9, 2013 10: a.m.
First Baptist Church, 200 W. Walnut St, Danville, Kentucky

Visitation: Friday, March 8, 2013, 5:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m.,at the church.

Burial: Monday, March 11, 2013;
