Jesse Wilson Bates died June 10, 2004. Mr. Bates was a Member of Lagaurdo Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Sunday School teacher. He was a teacher and an educator at Dupont and Two Rivers High Schools. He taught Chemistry, Physics and Advanced Mathematics. Mr. Bates was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He is the son of the late James Ira (James Yeager)and Jessie Patrick Bates. His sister, Lassie Sauls and brother, Roger Bates, also precedes him in death. Survived by wife, Etta Hackett Bates of Nashville, TN one daughter of Memphis, brother James I (Died 2010), one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
