Aunt Vadie was one of my favorite aunts. She loved God, Family, Friends and to fish, in that order. In my mind I can still see her sitting by her large pond waiting for a bite. Wife of Albert A West, who preceeded her in death.
Vadie West, 91, of Kirbyville died Monday at Avalon Place Nursing Home in Kirbyville.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at E. E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery.
A native of Merryville, La., she lived in Kirbyville most of her life.
Survivors include her son, Harold West of Kirbyville; daughters, Juanice Lumpkin of Kirbyville, Bonice McBride of Kirbyville, Bernice Grimes of Baytown and Mary Smith of Highlands; sisters, Lena Othello Bruggman and Ottie Belle Loughridge, both of Livingston; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
