Mrs. Ruth Sylvia Crow Presley, age 82 years, departed this life Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Summit View of Lake City, in Lake City, TN. Ruth was born in West Plains, Missouri on April 7, 1930 to Thomas and Mary Crow.

Ruth attended high school in West Plains, MO. She met and married Charles Howard Presley in MO. on August 5, 1950. They celebrated 62 years of marriage in August 2012.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Mary Crow, daughter; Jean Ann Presley Singh (Inverness, FL), sisters; Goldie Freels, Ruby Piggott, and Gladus Smith (West Plains, MO), brother; Bill Crow (Missouri), and grandson; Jamin Aaron Costner (Cosby, TN).

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles H. Presley (Lake City, TN), daughter and son-in-law; Tammy Jo and Haskell Jeter (Knoxville, TN), son-in-law; Joe Singh (Inverness, FL), grandchildren; James Howard, Joshua Edward, Rachel Lucille, and Joseph Michael Jeter (Knoxville, TN), Jensy Autumn Singh Luna Widner and husband Ben (Oak Ridge, TN), Jasmine Amber Singh Zook and husband Michael (Inverness, FL), and Johnathan Singh (Inverness, FL) great grandchildren; Destiny and Dakota Luna (Oak Ridge, TN), and Patrick Jamin Zook (Inverness, FL) brother-in-law; Joe (Ruth) Presley of Illinois, sister-in-law; Linda (Kenneth) Holstine, and Nora (Wayne) Wilson all of Missouri, niece; Mary (Ray) Stone of West Plains, MO and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ruth's life was devoted to her husband and children. She was a home-maker and preacher's wife for over 50 years. Ruth served with her husband at Christian Churches in Iowa and Kansas before moving to TN. They served from 1974 to 1989 at Laural Springs Christian Church in Cosby, TN before moving to Johnson Bible College, in Knoxville, TN in 1989 to serve the college. Ruth was the Assistant Cook at Johnson Bible College for 5 years. After leaving Johnson Bible College they moved to Inverness, FL to enjoy their retirement. In 2008 they moved back to Knoxville, TN to live next to Tammy, Haskell, and the grandchildren.

Ruth was a quiet woman who loved to cook, sew, quilt, garden and paint. She sewed clothing for her children and suits for her husband, made blankets for their beds, and was known for her famous cinnamon rolls. Ruth painted many beautiful nature scenes, and decorated her home with her own hand-painted furniture. She showered her grandchildren with love and her life was lived for serving the Lord.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at West Village Christian Church, 637 Robertsville Rd., Oak ridge, TN 37830, from 6:00 to 7:00pm with funeral services following: Dr. David Eubanks officiating.

Interment will be at 1:30pm on Wednesday. April 3, 2013 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Hwy. Pastor Bruce Martin officiating.
