Died - In Spring Creek township, July 14, 1878, Mr. George F. Eldred, in the 82d year of his age. The deceased was born at the Middle Temple, London, England. In the year 1819 he emigrated to America, and resided for a period with an uncle in Lycoming county; from thence he sought his way through an all but wilderness to the Brokenstraw. In 1827 he came to Spring Creek and resided on the Irvine Farm, where he resided until the year 1845, when he took up a tract of land on the State road east of Brokenstraw Creek, and commenced clearing a farm. He had a good education, was versatile in conversation, terse in correspondence, and indefatigable in his undertakings, was of great hospitality, and affectionate in his family. His wife with whom he had passed Fifty-one years of the joys and sorrows of wedded life, was unremitting in her attention to soothe his way to the grave. Warren mail July 23, 1878
