Joe began his career as a millwright in 1906 when he worked as an apprentice in a sawmill in Louisiana. Later he followed his chosen profession in Canada, British West Indies, Mexico and the United States.
He was married to Edith Roberts on August 26, 1909 in the West Indies. Later they lived in Old Mexico where Joe was engaged in building saw mills.
In 1919 the Kasper family came to McCall where Joe has been associated with the Brown's Tie and Lumber Company for many years as millwright and master mechanic.
Mr. Kasper was a member of the McCall Congregational Church and the Payette Lakes Rotary Club. He was also a member of Payette Lakes Lodge 91 AF and AM of McCall, Scottish Rite Bodies and El Korah Temple of Boise and the Lakes Chapter of Royal Arch Masons. He was currently Chaplain of the local Masonic Lodge and past and present Worth Patron of the McCall order of Eastern Star.
