Thomas Jefferson Bennett was the son of William Bennett and his first wife Sarah Barngrover. Thomas was known as "T.J., Jeff, or Jefferson" and had two brothers and one sister who died as a young child. He also had three half-sisters and three half-brothers through his step-mother Nancy (Lefrances Walden) Henning Foor. Thomas died after falling from a railroad car.
