Beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, Julia Adalene "Jewel" Jones, 76, of Vancouver WA, passed away peacefully in her home, April 30, 2013. She was born August 24, 1936 in Redding, IA, to Leo Wayne & Zellma Elizabeth (Trisler) Rains. Jewel was the 7th of 16 children.

Jewel graduated from Champaign Jr High in Champaign IL. She left IL in 1952 for California where she met and married George Albert Caito on October 18, 1952 in Tijuana, Mexico. Together they had 3 daughters while living in Torrance CA. After the birth of their girls, they moved to Portland OR abt 1963. George passed away on December 8, 1976. She has lived in Vancouver for over 20 years.

Jewel worked for American Rag & Metal Co. over 26 years before retiring. Prior to working outside the home, she was a full time mother, raising 3 daughters.

Mom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Mom loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cribbage, reading romance novels, and watching TV.

Jewel is survived by her daughters: Georgia (Mark) Chapman, White Salmon, WA; Sandra (Brad) Farnsworth, Thatcher, UT; and Sheila (Larry) Wakeman, Vancouver, WA; 13 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings: Romona Ennis, IA; Linda (Alfred) Lautenschlager GA; Leo Rains Jr, NM; Vera Rains, WS; Ulzada (Dean) Beebe, TX; Julia (Robert) Tingtella, TX; Elizabeth (Anthony) Heard, WA; & Joseph Youmans, IA. And too many nephews & nieces to list :)

Jewel was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, 5 brothers: James, Wayne, Blayne, Dale & Clinton and 2 sisters: Faith & Joyce.

The family would like to thank Sue, Danielle and the staff of 'Kaiser Permanente Hospice NW Region'.

A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Willamette National Cemetery. Grave dedicated by family friend Don Rutherford.
