James Edward "Skip" Eanes, Sr., age 91, of Danville, died on May 02, 2013 at Riverside Health Care. He was born on October 20, 1921, in Franklin County, to George and Rosa Eanes. He worked in maintenance at Dan River, Inc. before his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by five daughters: Mary Jane Dobmeier and Carnell Jones, both of Danville, VA; Glenda Bowen and husband Dennis, of Fletcher, NC; Ruth Ann Soyars, of Danville, VA; Janice Heywood and husband Seth, of Chester, VA; one son: James E. Eanes, Jr. and wife Betty, of Axton, VA; twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren; sister: Algie Phelps. He was also predeceased by his wife Clarice Elva Quarles Eanes; eight brothers and two sisters.
Burial will be in Highland Burial Park. Swicegood Funeral Service is serving the Eanes family.
