Soon after arriving in Idaho Falls, he met and married his wife of nearly 56 years, June Maurer, on Aug. 14, 1948. Their union resulted in the birth of eight children, all of them surviving [names deleted]. There are 40 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren (at last count) bonded in the united Couch family.
Having retired in 1989, Jack spent many hours in service to the community and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of which he was an active and valiant member. He and June spent two years in the California, San Bernardino Mission in 1991-1993. For many years Jack was the on-field announcer for the Idaho Falls Russet baseball team at what was then Highland Park. He was on the Board of Directors for Development Workshop and active in insuring the Bridge to Braves charity event was successful for many years. His many activities he enjoyed participating in included golfing, skiing, family history and most of all, participating with his family members enjoy family outings, reunions and similar activities.
He was preceded by his parents and one grandchild. Funeral Services were held on July 20, 2004, at Idaho Falls 28th Ward, 1165 Azalea, with Bishop Cleo Geddes officiating. Burial in Fielding Memorial Park directed by Wood Funeral Home.
