Norma Louise Fleming was born on July 19, 1937, in Chouteau, OK, to Wimps & Mildred Eugenia (Conrad) Foster. She departed this life on Thursday, May 2, 2013, in Pryor, OK, at the age of 75 years, 9 months, & 13 days.
Growing up, Norma attended schools in Locust Grove, graduating with the class of 1955. She also attended college classes at NEO A&M in Miami, OK. On June 25, 1955, in Pryor, OK, Norma & J.W. Fleming were united in marriage. J.W. preceded his wife in death on May 26, 1979.
Norma was affectionately known by her family & many of her friends as "Nan". She had lived in Topeka, Kansas for a short time, but had spent most of her life in Locust Grove. In 2006, she moved to Pryor. She worked for some time at the Yarnmill, Fabricut, Willard's Day & Night, & Welch's.
"Nan" loved to travel & had loved the visits she had made to the Grand Canyon & Colorado. She loved her family dearly & treasured the time spent with them. She loved to look after her grandchildren & help others. "Nan" also had a passion for animals, especially her dogs & hummingbirds. She will be greatly missed.
Norma is survived by: 3 children: Linda Oliver & husband John of Pryor, OK, Robert Fleming & wife April of Locust Grove, OK, & Johnny Fleming & wife Carol of Locust Grove, OK; 12 grandchildren: Shawn Oliver & wife Denice, Christi Wells & husband Parish, Bobby Fleming & wife Jamie, Jackie Fleming & wife Joni, Rachel Bluebird, Brittany Wadlow, Ethan Bluebird, William Wadlow, Kidman Fleming, B.J. Rogers & wife Nacole, Latisha Patrick & husband Noah, & J.W. Fleming & wife Amber. 19 great grandchildren; 1 brother: Bob Foster & wife Carolyn of Locust Grove, OK; & 1 sister: Betty Hooker of Locust Grove, OK; Numerous other relatives & a host of friends. Norma was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; & 2 brothers: Jim Foster & Lloyd Foster.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 P.M., Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Locust Grove Funeral Home Chapel, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Cremation services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
