Hazel Cameron Arrington

Mrs. Arrington, age 87, of Knoxville, TN and formerly of Charlotte, passed away on May 2, 2013.

Born in Harnett County, NC, Hazel was a daughter of the late Pearlie and McBryde Cameron. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Arrington, Jr., and her siblings, Eula Pipkins, Edith Swan, Marcus Cameron, Kenneth Cameron, and Anderson Cameron, all of whom she greeted when she opened her eyes in heaven.

Hazel married Richard A. Arrington, Jr. after a courtship at Fort Bragg, NC during World War II, and together they raised three children in their home in Charlotte. She was a member of Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Arrington is survived by her children, Rick Arrington and wife, Mary Jane, Susan Arrington Seacord and husband, Jimmy, and Lisa Arrington Simmerman and husband, Seth; six grandchildren and their spouses, Joy Arrington Fanning and husband, Steve, Tiffany Arrington, Brandon Seacord Wells and husband, Randy, Richard Franklin Simmerman, Kristina Kelly Simmerman and fiancé, Tyler Roper, and Erica Blayre Seacord; as well as three great-grandchildren, Hannah Dakota Fanning, Mary Elle Fanning, and Presley Panaro.

Hazel's quick wit, charming smile, and twinkle in her blue eyes will be missed and cherished by her beloved family, friends, and neighbors.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 5th from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Harry & Bryant Funeral Home, 500 Providence Road, with a service to celebrate her life to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
